Baby K'tan was founded by two couples, who had three children, including a child with special needs. They experimented with different slings and carriers, but couldn't find one to suit their needs.

They began creating different designs incorporating their children's needs, ease of use, comfort, and style, eventually creating the Baby K'tan Baby Carrier, a cross between a sling and a more structured front baby carrier.
